Privacy & Cookies

The short version

This is a static, informational website for the American Studies Program at the University of Bucharest. It does not run advertising, does not profile its visitors, and sets no tracking cookies. You can read every page without accounts, pop-ups, or consent banners.

What we collect

You do not need to give us any personal data to browse the site. If you email us, we receive what you choose to send — your name, address, and message — and use it only to reply to you.

Like any website, the server that hosts these pages may keep standard access logs (for example your IP address, the time of the request, and the page requested) for security and reliability. These logs are not used to identify or profile you.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies for analytics or advertising. Fonts are self-hosted, so opening a page does not call third-party font, tag, or tracking services.

If we later embed external content — such as a map or a video — or introduce analytics, that content may set its own cookies. We will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it before doing so.

Links to other sites

We link out to the University of Bucharest admissions portal, to publishers and academic journals, and to our social media. Once you follow such a link you are on another organisation's website, and that site's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, write to the program office.
